Inter-Club Hockey

Inter-Club Hockey is very competitive and requires a good level of skill and game knowledge to be successful in the Central Region League.  Travel is also required at this level, as far as Hamilton and New Plymouth.

Club represetatives will compete with teams from the following clubs:
The season starts in early May (with team musters in February) and continues until the end of August. Throughout the season teams are competing for a top two placing in the league to be eligable to compete at the National Championships against the best teams in the country in each grade.

Inter-Regional Hockey
When playing in the Central Region League, players are also eligible to be selected to trial for their Inter-Regional team and if successful, play in the Inter-Regional tournament against the other three Regions in New Zealand. (ie: Northern, Lower North and Southern).  This tournament is held on Labour Weekend.

International Hockey
Players who are successful at Inter-Regional level then have a chance to be selected to trial for the New Zealand National team in their respective grade.
